BUCHANAN HALL SLIDE PROJECTORS

Buchanan Hall uses slide projectors, which do NOT hold standard KODAK slide carousels. The Leica® projectors provide a sharper and brighter image than any KODAK. We check out slide trays for clients and faculty members. Contact Buchanan Hall Staff to inquire about obtaining these trays.

Leica® Slide Projector Slide Tray

Directions for Loading Slide Trays

  1. Hold tray in left hand with the #1 slot facing you.
  2. Hold the first slide in your right hand up to a light so you can orient the image the way it is to appear on the screen to the audience.
  3. Still holding the slide as above, load the slide upside down into the #2 position of the tray. Leave the #1 slot empty.
  4. Keep filling the slots, in order, until the tray is full. If, at any time in our lecture you want the screen to be dark after a particular slide, leave the next slot empty. Empty slots result in a dark screen (the internal shutter doesn't open). The screens in Buchanan Hall are designed for side-by-side projection so you can show two slides simultaneously. If you will be showing two slides at the same time like this, please indicate on which side each tray is to be loaded by affixing a label of some sort (post-it, masking tape, or so forth) to each tray. Do not write directly on the tray.
